UTRECHT, 2 February 2009 – The first dwellings of the Peizerhoven residential housing project on the outskirts of Groningen were delivered on Friday, 30 January 2009. Construction of the project kicked off at the start of 2008 and, as planned, the houses will be ready in the months ahead.

The new development project borders on the western edges of the Stadspark in Groningen, along the Peizerweg. Peizerhoven consists of 50 thatched houses (26 freestanding and 24 semi-detached). An exceptional project, spanning four courtyards, separated by historical sightlines and waterways that exude an ecological character together with the banks.

“We are thrilled with our house,” said one of the first residents, having already taken ownership. “We’ve been closely involved throughout the project. Communication went very well with regular residents’ meetings keeping everything on track.” The first baby is expected soon in Peizerhoven, so the newborn’s room will have to be fixed up quickly.

Despite the credit crisis, interest is good and all but two of the houses have already been sold. The Groningen-based estate agency Meeùs carries responsibility for selling the houses. Peizerhoven was developed by Strukton Projectontwikkeling.
