Strukton Rail has won a major renewal project in Denmark, on the section between Farum and Svanemøllen, north of Copenhagen.

The project involves the renewal of track (45 kilometres), ballast (23 kilometres), 13 switches and drainage. The work will start at the end of May 2008 and must be completed by the end of November 2008. Strukton Rail has offered the lowest price. Quality was an important awarding criterion in addition to the price.

It is for the first time that Strukton Rail has been awarded a project in Denmark. Several more projects will be put up to public tender in Denmark, following from a long-term plan for track renewal that Danish railway enterprise Banedanmark has drawn up.

Strukton Rail will carry out the project together with NCC, a construction company established in Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark and Germany. Strukton Rail will be responsible for the management and project planning. Strukton Rail will use its own chain ballast cleaner and packing machine for the project.
