UTRECHT, 14 December 2007 – Strukton Bouw & Vastgoed has been commissioned by the VU Medical Centre (VUmc) in Amsterdam to construct the new rooftop unit for the VUmc Clinical Training Centre. Construction work will start in January 2008 and is valued at more than €4.4 million.
Strukton will be constructing a four-storey wing and a two-storey wing above the roof of the building’s existing fourth storey. A lift will be installed from the basement level of the atrium to the eighth storey for accessibility. The total floor area of the expansion amounts to 3,700 m². The rooftop unit will be used mainly as a training centre. Expectations are that construction work will be completed by December 2008.
Strukton Bouw & Vastgoed previously constructed a four-storey office at the existing VUmc outpatients’ department.
