Strukton Infratechnieken jacks up 250-tonne ‘Nooit Gedacht’ flourmill by seven metres
25 | 09 | 2009
Strukton Infratechnieken today jacked up the 250-tonne ‘Nooit Gedacht’ flourmill. Jacking up the mill by no less than seven metres is certainly a first in the Netherlands. Raising the mill will serve to guarantee its wind rights, ensuring that it continues to catch sufficient wind, even with all the new construction work in the area.
The jacking window is already in position. The process itself will take two days to complete. After being jacked up, the mill will remain on the poles for a period of six weeks, during which the foundations will be laid. Following this, huge 19-tonne concrete sections produced by Strukton Prefab Beton will be delivered to construct the windmill’s new walls.
