02 | 07 | 2009

UTRECHT, 2 July 2009 – Strukton and the Delft University Fund (Universiteitsfonds Delft – UfD) have joined forces to establish the UfD-Strukton Master Fund. Three UfD-Strukton Master Awards – valued at a total of €10,000 – will be paid out from this fund each year to three master students from the Delft University of Technology (TU Delft). The initiative aims to stimulate students to think ahead in their approach towards social issues and to create future-proof construction and infrastructural solutions.

Students who have written a project, graduation or research report reflecting sustainable ideas and groundbreaking solutions directed at improving the living environment, can enter for such an award. The solutions proposed should be innovative and integral, and apply to design and construction elements as well as maintenance and operation. From 1 July 2009, students are invited to submit their reports to www.strukton-studenten.nl. Entries will not be accepted after 1 October 2009.

Strukton will deposit an amount of €30,000 into the university fund. Over a three year period, an amount of €10,000 will be paid out annual in the form of Strukton Awards. The prize money awarded to the winning entry will be €5,000. Winners of the second and third prizes will each be awarded €2,500.

The panel of judges will consist of three TU Delft professors, one UfD board member and one Strukton representative.  The festive prize-giving ceremony for UfD-Strukton Master Awards will be held at the end of October 2009.

These incentives are directed at strengthening ties between Strukton and the students at TU Delft.
