UTRECHT, 6 May 2008 – The third edition of ‘Dag van de Bouw’ or Dutch Building Trade Day is to be held on Saturday, 31 May. Throughout the day, the general public will be granted free admission to a large number of construction projects. And Strukton is also taking part.

From 10:00 to 16:00 hours that day, the public is welcome to visit the following projects in which Strukton is involved:

• Noord/Zuidlijn Central Metro Station in Amsterdam
• Nieuwe Markt in Breda
• Reef Infra office project in Almelo
• Stadseiland tower block in Arnhem
• City Centre project in Lelystad

The initiative to organise the Dag van de Bouw event was taken by the Netherlands’ largest trade organisation representing employers in the construction sector, Bouwend Nederland, as part of its campaign ‘De Bouw maakt het’ or The Building Trade Makes It, designed to upgrade the image of the sector. The first edition of the event, held in 2006, boasted 68 participating projects and attracted 35,000 visitors. By 2007, these figures had risen to 208 projects and 68,000 visitors. And during the forthcoming third edition, 230 projects are to open their doors to visitor numbers estimated at around the 80,000 mark.

Further information on this year’s Dag van de Bouw and a full list of participating projects can be found at www.dagvandebouw.nl.
