Strukton is, as partner in TalentGroep, actively involved in the first PPP schoolproject in the Netherlands. The tender for the "Montaigne 2005" project (a secondary education college in Ypenburg housing up to 1.200 students) was finalised with the signing of the contract in December 2004.
This is the first project in The Netherlands in which the design, construction, fitting out, maintenance, funding and management and commercial operation of a school has been tendered out as a single integrated contract. Construction of the school started in May 2005; the building has opened its doors to students on 30 August 2006.
Pilot
This project is part of a PPP Pilot Programme for School Building Construction. The Stichting Confessioneel Onderwijs Lucas (an educational foundation), the municipality of The Hague, the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science and the Ministry of Finance have decided jointly to see whether PPP provides benefits for the construction of educational buildings in The Netherlands.
